August Warrior of the Month: Rachel Baribeau

May 18, 2015

We, here at Warrior Activewear, think it is important to recognize you, our faithful customers who inspire us.  This month's Warrior, Rachel Baribeau, embodies the meaning of the word Warrior in all aspects of life.  Here is her response to being selected as August's Warrior of the Month.

I can’t help but smile, big, when I think of the word warrior. You see, I'm the daughter of a great military warrior. My daddycakes was a life-long Army man, as was my grandfather and my brother. Their service taught me the value of Patriotism, love of family, and the weight of my word. You don't own much in this world, but you do own your good word and your last name; I intend to live out my days bringing honor to both.

So when I was chosen to represent Warrior Activewear this month, it struck a cord with me. That word runs deep and means much to me.
And beyond the obvious meaning, I think we can all be a warrior in so many ways. I strive to be a warrior of love, each and every day. I yearn to be warrior of joy and forgiveness. And I hope that my warrior ways impact my legacy. I hope that people remember the way I made them feel.
I recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for my dear friend, Kevin Turner. He suffers from ALS. We climbed the world’s tallest free-standing mountain in the hopes that one day someone would come down off the mountain of ALS, and we raised over 90k for research and a cure.
Ive never felt like more of warrior than I did that day at the summit (19,451), because I believe you stand the tallest and are most warrior-like when you are fighting on behalf of another being. Who, or what, are you fighting for, my fellow warriors?
If you want to get involved in the fight for ALS, reach me at Rachel@RachelBaribeau.com or donate at www.KevinTurnerFoundation.org
Rachel is wearing our Honor the Fallen pants in a S/M.
If you would like to nominate someone you know for September's Warrior of the Month, post why here, on our FB page, or email us at service@warrioractivewear.com.  They will receive a complimentary pair of pants and be featured in next month's Warrior Blog!
